The Psyched Friends
Spec Work
The Psyched Friends is a psychotherapy clinic + mental health podcast on a mission to destigmatize conversations around men’s mental health. I wanted to create an identity that resonated with the mission, a brand that felt masculine, yet friendly and approachable, inspired by the midcentury modern aesthetic. The logo and branding elements were designed to be simple yet impactful. I designed some custom elements that are central to the brand’s identity: Retro speech bubbles symbolizing open, candid conversations and the deconstruction of mental health taboos. I also incorporated a retro chair illustration into the design, a symbol of the 'therapist's chair' that adds a unique touch and a subtle nod to the comfort and openness of the brand. The colour palette and typography combination have a masculine and modern-retro feel. The goal of the overall design is to balance professionalism and a relaxed atmosphere, inviting men to engage in conversations about mental health in a space that feels both safe and relatable.
